Financial literacy festival in Isfara city
On August 14 of this year, at the initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan, in cooperation with financial institutions, insurance companies, and development partners, another Financial Literacy Festival was held in the city of Isfara.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, held at the Palace of Culture of Isfara, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Daler Murodalizoda and Deputy Mayor of Isfara Ja’far Haidarzoda spoke about the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022–2026, the importance and necessity of financial literacy among the population, and its role in the economic development of the country.
It was noted that in order to achieve the goals set out in the Strategy, the National Bank of Tajikistan, together with relevant ministries and agencies, financial institutions, insurance companies, and development partners, regularly organizes financial literacy festivals in cities and districts of the country to expand access of the population to financial services.
In addition, upon the recommendation and initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan, financial institutions in various regions, especially in remote areas, hold educational events with target groups of the population — including schoolchildren, students of secondary and higher educational institutions, employees of public and private organizations, women, and migrants. The purpose of these events is to raise the level of financial literacy of users of financial services. Financial literacy festivals are not only educational events but also a valuable opportunity for communication with experts, sharing experiences, and getting acquainted with new financial tools.
In the continuation of the first part of the festival, specialists from the National Bank of Tajikistan, financial institutions, and insurance organizations discussed with participants various topics, including “Advantages of Cashless Payments,” “Prevention of Financial Fraud,” “The Importance of Savings,” “The Role of Financial Institutions in Enhancing Financial Literacy,” and “The Concept and Importance of Property Insurance.” A quiz competition was also held, and active participants were awarded commemorative gifts.
The second part of the event took place in front of the Palace of Culture of Isfara, where financial institutions and insurance companies presented their products and services to festival visitors.
The third part of the festival — a cultural and entertainment program with the participation of famous artists — was held at the central square of Isfara. A prize draw competition based on financial knowledge further enhanced the festive atmosphere of the event.
In conclusion, it was expressed with confidence that these events will contribute to raising the financial literacy level of users of financial services and help achieve the goals set out in the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022–2026.
